Yay Billikens!

Improve to 5-1 over the Ramblers in a game that was going to be decided on who missed the last free throw.

If they can beat SIU on the road this weekend, we may have something worth getting fired up about.

C-Lo, what'd it look like? Listened on radio. SLU announcers loved Schlib (sp?).

I missed the first 10 minutes of the game, but I had Annette tape the whole thing and will be sending that to you today for your analysis. But out of spite for the loss, I will not be rewinding the tape ahead of time.

What I saw was a fairly sloppy game that Loyola should have won. SLU won for two reasons: 1) That Lisch kid is clearly a gym rat who probably takes 1,000 shots a day after practice, and 2) We had no answer for your big guy in the middle. I think our tallest player was 6'-7", and probably gave up 50-60 pounds to your guy. (Our center broke his foot before the season started, but he's only 6'-9", and from Australia, so it's possible his presence would not have mattered.)

Two key miscues down the stretch also prevented the Ramblers from getting the win: Schilb throwing away a pass after making a steal, and Blount missing the front end of a 1-and-1 with Loyola down 1.

The last seven minutes of the game were pretty exciting, though, and Schilb's performance makes it worth watching.

Cool! Thanks in advance for the tape, C-Lo.

Lisch is pretty good, from what I hear. His sister is freshman for SLU's women's team & she reported to be better than him (relative to peers). Their dad is an ex-NFL QB. Apparently he was Montana's backup at Notre Dame at some point. Amazing that SLU ended up getting them.
